Emergency Substitutions

I posted on today about emergency cooking and baking substitutions. I would love to grow this list though, so if you have other go-to substitutions (besides ordering take-out!), let me know!

On a totally unrelated side note, this "giving up chocolate for Lent" thing is proving to be quite the challenge. I have not cheated, but my chocolate cravings are getting quite intense! I took R and G to Whole Foods for lunch today with a friend and her two kids...they were giving away chocolate cupcake samples. Oh-my-goodness it took every ounce of self control to steer clear. 16 days and counting...

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Congrats on the chocolate. I sure hope the Easter Bunny gives you a nicely stocked basket this year. I've cheated a few times, but overall I'm pretty proud of myself.

As for substitutions, I think we just have the basic ones for adding moisture to a recipe (bananas, applesauce, yogurt, sour cream). I always liked Paula Deen's section on substitutions.

Love your blog. You have some great info on here.

If you get a chance check out my blog

I have a blog to help people make and save money. I post only legit and practical ways real people can either make some extra cash or save when purchasing everyday items. I’m actually writing an ebook with this information and more.

Anyway, I’m still looking for more info to include in the book. If you have written a post or article relating to ways to make and save money I’d love to include it in my book. In exchange I’ll give you a free copy of the book once completed and possibly affiliate privileges to sell the book. If you are interested you can read my blog and leave a comment or email me at

Also, I’m working on a neat program/feature for my site. Now all I need is a good programmer. If you know of anyone that has experience writing programs for web pages that are also compatible with online networking sites (ex. Facebook) please pass the word along. Have them email me at the above address or leave a comment on the blog.

Very helpful information. Appreciate it.
Cashcrate is my favorite site and the one that I’ve received the most checks from. I’ve been doing it for about a year now and honestly have never had a problem with it.You earn money by doing free offers, surveys, watching ads, shopping online, participating in live contests and referring your friends and family members to the site.Cashcrate is one of the most popular GPT sites having 990,000+ members.I have made close to $3000 using this great Get Paid To Site. The amazing part is I've spent only about 6 hours a week on this site and I've earned $300 in 1 month! I can't urge you enough to try it out for yourself.
