No, not a toddler meltdown...our snow and ice. The sound of snow melting is everywhere and I have been caught off guard by more than one sheet of ice whooshing off a neighbor's roof while outside this weekend.
Happy Valentine's Week everyone. I heart hearts and I love love, so this week I plan to go all lovey-dovey on my family and sneak hearts in wherever I can. I got warmed up last week by making vanilla pudding with a strawberry sauce and doing this:
I even had a new helper in the kitchen last week, R's good friend J, who was so sweet in this rockin' apron my mom recently made me:
We had fun creating our Valentine's Day pudding, even if J said, "it tastes like dirt!" I blame the year-old heart sprinkles that she and R dumped on their pudding in huge mounds. R, in classic boy form said, "it may taste like dirt, but this dirt tastes gooooood!"
This week is a light cooking week with a family celebration one night, a sitter coming another night and Shannon leading up the cooking tomorrow night. But our other meals will be:
Heart shaped meatloaf, pureed cauliflower and sauteed napa cabbage
Pistachio crusted chicken, broccoli and fruit salad
Homemade fish sticks, smashy peas and another side (I was feeling uninspired by the produce aisle yesterday)
Have a great week,
SPC

Happy Valentines Day to you too!!!! Have a great week. Your little helpers are adorable!
Oh my gosh, that is HILARIOUS! I can't believe she said that!!! Hopefully her cuteness will get her by in life when her honesty is a little too honest. :) Very sweet idea!
