The best things in life are so simple

Organic tomatoes of different varieties and fresh basil, all from our garden...drizzled with olive oil, balsamic, S&P.

Can't you just taste it?

Now if I can just figure out what to do with the nearly 2 dozen and counting other tomatoes that were ripe when we got back from Chautauqua...anyone out there have a good canning recipe?

If not, I am making copious amounts of our Sweet Pea Pizza Sauce and freezing it for a rainy, or cold weather day.

I rely totally on my Ball guide and the Joy of Cooking's Canning and Putting Food By for canning recipes... and then I change them. I ordered a bushel of tomatoes from an Amish farm nearby, so I will soon be canning by the hour.

I grilled my tomates before I made sauce this weekend and will probably do so again with the ones that are threatening to fall off the vines as we speak.

Wow, this picture is so beautiful & inviting. I am also picturing fresh mozzarella with all of it.
