Weekly Menu and Seasons Changing

First, our meals for the week--I hope they give you inspiration:

Caramelized Onion Calzones
, Warm Kale Salad, Pineapple
Sweet Potato Enchiladas, Brown Rice, Mango
Slow Cooker Italian Bean and Artichoke Heart Soup, Bread
Winter Pumpkin Pasta, Green Beans
Baked Pesto Pasta, Orange and Grapefruit Salad

Second, our weather this past week--things are a changin' here in central Ohio. When the weather allows, G and I go on "nature walks" at our neighborhood park to explore. Two weeks ago, we walked and while there was some color, most trees were full and green:

And last week? Check out this picture taken at nearly the same spot:

And look at these amazing trees:

Yes, fall is here and with fall came the inevitable: cleaning out most of our garden in preparation for the frost that will be here soon. I blogged about our garden this morning on FamilyEducation.com, but suffice it to say, things look much different in our garden this morning:
That lonely colander holds the remaining vegetables from the pulled plants. But in the midst of the bittersweet clean-up of the garden, after I thought I had pulled very remaining green tomato, eggplant and more, I found a sweet surprise:

A fully ripe, perfect, roma tomato. I picked some basil and will feast on it today for lunch.

Life is sweet,
SPC

Looking forward to the recipe! We usually do pasta on Mondays (ballet night), so is sounds like this would be up their alley!

We're doing well...it's been super busy with school starting, work, and everything else here...but I'm starting to feel like I'm getting my groove back. (Though this week is a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of week with the menu!)

We did not go to the game this weekend -- it was John's trip to Knoxville, so the girls and I didn't roadtrip. I did consider hauling all three kiddos to C-ville to go see Jenn and Goody...but luckily I'll get to see Jenn in 3 weeks for a girls weekend.

Only 2'ish more weeks until we're out of the temporary basement kitchen and in our wonderful new kitchen! Can't wait to put aside the frozen meals and take-out containers, and to throw on my apron for some good ol' cookin! Making a bunch of stuff from your website will be first on my list.

Slacker, have a fun girls weekend. And honestly, I don't know how you do it with three. I barely tread water with two!

JB, I've been stalking your blog for photos of the kitchen renovation. Can't wait to see the finished product, but probably not as excited as you!!
